Who are SJPFA?

We are a group of parents whose primary purpose is to raise extra funds for the benefit of all the children at the school. We also have a lot of fun in the process!

The fund-raising is usually achieved by holding events such as discos, themed nights and the annual Summer Fair.

We meet periodically with Mr Connell in order to discuss how we can best achieve this.

We are a very friendly and approachable bunch! Most days at 3.30 there are at least 2 committee members around in the playground, so do come and speak to us if you have any suggestions…..or even if you think one of us looks a bit lonely standing on our own…

How is the money spent?

Often, we will fund or part fund an event such as Star-Lab, Travelling by Tuba.
In the past we have bought items such as the new hall curtains, the stacking chairs, sports kits, lego, the projector, the hall staging, swimming caps, musical instruments etc.
We often consult the staff too, to see if there are any suggestions that they may have.
If you would like to have an influence in this decision making process then do please come along to our next meeting.

Come onboard!

You may not know this, but your child will already be benefitting from the funds raised by SJPFA. As soon as a child enters yr 3, they are surrounded by things that would not be there had it not been for these fundraising efforts.
As such, every single one of us parents has a part to play in order to maintain this. If we want the children of Sudley Juniors to continue having access to such wonderful extras, then its down to all of us……

Helpers

We are always looking for “helpers” at our events. If you would like to be added to our list, please contact any member of the committee or post a comment leaving your name and contact telephone number and we will be in touch.

Summer Fair

This provides our largest revenue for the year. If you would like to participate by helping out either before, during or immediately after the event, then please contact one of us. We even make sure that those who came and help are well looked after, by getting supplied with tea and cakes!

And finally….

It is an immense privilege for us to have an influence in the school and to be able to affect the lives of all the children in some way, by providing them with certain opportunities that they would not otherwise have.
As a parent of a child at this school, you are actually part of SJPFA already.
Whether you choose to use that privilege is up to you…..
